This site was created to display the many cakes that I have made for my family and friends.
Like most Mums, the only time I made a cake was perhaps for my sons' birthday, but about 20 years ago a family member showed me how to create icing frills, flowers, leaves and floral arrangements from Sugarpaste. I soon realised you could make almost anything out of icing all you really need is a little imagination and patience.
Since then I have made many types of cakes ranging from birthdays to weddings, unfortunately some have not worked out as first planned whilst others have turned out better than I expected, I do not make cakes to sell or for profit, as for me, it is just a hobby that I like to share with my family and friends. I am an amateur cake decorator who still gets tips from the same family member who helped me all those years ago.
Although I enjoy making all types of cakes, the ones I really like doing are the "Novelty" cakes because they take a lot of thought and planning, although I'm never quite sure my designs are going to work (sometimes they don't) but it's a lovely feeling when they do turn out OK.
